Description

We have been dedicated on bringing wireless displacement sensors and smart device Apps to make dimensional measurement simpler. Now it is also possible to wirelessly collect readings from our WiMER and BlueDial on any Windows PC in the facilities.

First of all, you should have a WiMER or a BlueDial at hand. If you already have one, just grab a small USB dongle from our store for $25 and download the FREE Dial Reading software on any PC running Windows 7 and later. Then you are ready to see all the data streamed to the PC wirelessly.

Import Update: v1.04 supports simultaneous connection of multiple devices. Now Dial-Reading can connect to up to 7 BlueDial/WiMER at the same time using one single dongle. Each gage will be assigned its individual panel for display and control without interference between each other. Data recording will also be simultaneous for all connected devices.

Import Update: v2.00 supports multiple dongles Now multiple BLED112 dongles can be added to Dial-Reading software, meaning more BlueDial/WiMER are able to connect at the same time.

Install and Use

    1. Connect the USB dongle to one of the USB ports of the PC
    2. For first time use, wait for Windows to automatically search and install required driver. If driver is installed successfully, please directly move to step 5, otherwise go to step 3
    3. Manually download the driver
    4. Go to Control PanelSystem and SecuritySystemDevice Manager. In Device Manager, find the bluetooth low energy dongle, right click, select Update Driver Software. Next select Browse my computer for driver software, select the path where the driver downloaded in previous step is stored, then click Next. If there is any prompted window appearing, just allow it to install the driver
    5. Once driver is installed, go to Control PanelSystem and SecuritySystemDevice ManagerPorts (COM&LPT), look for Bluegiga Bluetooth Low Energy, remember the com number
    6. Turn on WiMER or BlueDial and launch Dial-Reading.exe
    7. In the software window, select the right com number from the drop-down menu and click the Attach button (see screenshot below)
    1. Then click the Scan button to start searching for nearby bluetooth devices (see screenshot below). The scanning process will last for 2 seconds. A new window with a list of all available devices will pop up. Select the device and click the Connect button to start connection
    1. Once connected, each device will have its own panel to show reading, unit, max, min, average and TIR (see screenshot below). Users can individual control each device: remotely zero/restore reading, clear readings or disconnect the device
    1. To continuously record data readings, select Continuous in the Recording Mode. Then click Record button, upcoming data stream will be recorded in the table on the right side (see screenshot below). To stop data recording, click the Stop button. Recorded data can be exported in a CSV file by clicking the Export button
    1. To manually capture data one by one, select Single in the Recording Mode. This action will activate the Capture button. Click the Capture button every time you want to record the value (see screenshot below)
